We took a closer look at the features offered on the Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord to decide which is the better mid-size sedan.

Can you also list which 60's and 70s stock
muscle cars these basic cars can beat in 0-60 times? That’d be fun!

Lol. Pretty much all of them, with the exception of 454 and 427-equipped GMs (Corvette and Camaro).

The Accord has a manual transmission available
The Camry has a panoramic sunroof and non-turbo engines which will be MUCH more reliable over hundreds of thousands of miles.
Toyota will easily win the battle that actually counts: how they are 200k miles from now. That’s the reason people buy these cars and the reason the Camry and Accord are still around when people are cutting sedans from their lineups.

This is a good comparison, but it reveals what everybody already knows :
If you want the hybrid drivetrain, get the Camry. Otherwise it’s the Accord. The 2.0T manual bur ies the Camry so hard.

This is armchair engineering at it’s finest.

I wish I could remember which Jeep I found specs for this past week that gave, IIRC, a 30+ second 0-60 time. Going to have to try to dig that up.
OTOH, given the fact I was dealing with 30+ year old Jeeps, the answer might well be “all of them”.

You should include the Mazda 6 and make it a 3 way comparison. The Mazda Signature 2.5T and the Accord Touring 2.0T are my segment top picks.

Can either one carry 6 adults or fit a jogging stroller in the trunk without breaking it down?

Honda’s turbos, especially the 1.5T, already has quite a few problems, like fuel dilution. In fact, it’s so bad that China, a place not known for superior engineering or precision quality, ordered a stop-sale on the CR-V with the 1.5T.
Honda dumps fuel into the 1.5T’s oil to help combat LSPI. GM’s small turbos like the
1.4T are also prone to LSPI.
Worse yet, they try to claim you can fill up with regular and use thin 0w20 oil. Also, the Honda 1.5T only takes 3.7 qt of oil. Most of the issues can be reduced or eliminated with 5w30 and premium, but few people will do so.
Honda has very little experience with turbos, and they only recently began making their lineup mostly turbo. Prior to the 2016 Civic, Honda almost never used turbos. In fact, the first-gen RDX was the only turbo Honda ever sold in the US until the current gen Civic turbo came out.
I say this as someone who would rather have a turbo-4 than a transverse V6 that is impossible to work on when you need to get to the back of the engine.
